A new 45c self-adhesive coil stamp design was introduced in July 1994 with a 'A to B' theme.

Issue information

The letter 'A' representing the origin of the mail piece and the 'B' the destination. This design was modified and reissued with a 40c denomination in October 1995 due to a postage rate decrease.

A to B self-adhesive

Issued 20 July 1994.

Self-adhesive coil stamps were primarily aimed at small business, clubs and other groups wanting reasonable amounts of stamps.

The bulk of coils produced were supplied from Leigh-Mardon Pty Ltd with a smaller quantity being supplied from Australia Post-Sprintpak at the time Leigh-Mardon were required to produce 40c stamps as a result of a reduction in postage rates. Apart from slight colour differences the Australia Post-Sprintpak stamps have 'rounded' die-cut corners as opposed to the Leigh-Mardon variety that have 'pointed' die-cut corners.
