The international philatelic exhibition, Belgica 2006, was held between 16-20 November 2006 at the international convention and exhibition centre ‘The Heysel’ in Brussels, Belgium.
Issue information
To mark the event, New Zealand Post issued a special first day cover and miniature sheet. The miniature sheet depicted the flower market in the Grand Place, Brussels, next to three uniquely New Zealand stamps from the personalised stamps range. The souvenir cover depicts the Atomium, which was built for the 1958 Brussels World’s Fair. The 103-metre-tall monument represents a unit cell of an iron crystal, magnified 165 billion times.
