The 1981 Health Stamp Issue contained a "marine environment" theme.
The set of three stamps depicted children fishing, exploring and examining marine life in the rock pools beside the ocean which is a pastime enjoyed by many New Zealand children.
The proceeds of the 'Health' value of health stamps were donated to the Children's Health Camps movement.
