In 2005 from 21 to 24 April, Sydney hosted the Pacific Explorer 2005 World Stamp Expo - the first international stamp exhibition to be held in Australia since the highly successful Australia 99.
Issue information
The 'Pacific' theme of the exhibition reflected both the participation of countries connected with the Pacific and the associated philatelic opportunities: Pacific life and culture, Pacific exploration, the postal history of early mail routes, and the development of the first trans-Pacific flights.
The miniature sheet produced by New Zealand Post for the occasion commemorated both 150 Years of New Zealand Stamps and the 90th Anniversary of the Gallipoli Landing - using the image from the 2005 Australian and New Zealand Army Corps 90th Anniversary coin issue.
