On 7 – 9 November 2003, New Zealand’s capital city hosted Welpex 2003 under the patronage of the New Zealand Philatelic Federation and supported by New Zealand Post.
Issue information
The first full national stamp exhibition that was held in Wellington since Royal 100 in 1988 also included a number of prestigious awards.
New Zealand Post commemorated the event with a special miniature sheet and exhibition souvenir cover that incorporated scenes of Wellington city and three stamps from the 100 Years of New Zealand Test Rugby stamp issue.
Each miniature sheet included a $1.00 surcharge which New Zealand Post presented to the New Zealand Philatelic Trust for hobby support.
