Single Stamp |
Single 2 1/2d + 1d 'Tarāpungas (red billed gulls)' gummed stamp. The Red-billed Gull (Larus novaehollandiae), is simply called seagull by most people. Primarily a bird of the coast, although it can be often found inland scavenging at tips. |
3 1/2d | |
Single Stamp |
Single 3d + 1d 'Kororā (blue penguin)' gummed stamp. The blue penguin (Eudyptula minor) is the smallest of all penguins. They nest around all New Zealand coasts and especially on small off-shore islands. They are also found at the Chathams, Tasmania and the southern coast of Australia. The design was based on a painting by Chloe Talbot Kelly which depicted a kororā with its chick on a rocky coast line. |
