Design

These handsome coins are the second in a three-year series that presents New Zealand’s most loved bird, the kiwi, together with another distinctly ‘New Zealand’ icon. In 2010 the image is the Southern Cross – our official emblem and one of the smallest constellations known.

Just 1,800 of these pure gold (0.999) proof $10 coins are available worldwide – a reflection of their prestige in the international collecting community. The 2009 gold proof coin was a sellout success and this is another superb example of the mint’s work. Beautifully presented in an elegant case, each coin includes an individually numbered authentication certificate.
