Design
Specially commissioned by New Zealand Post, the inspiration for this stunning coin design was carved from local Pounamu (greenstone) by renowned contemporary Maori artist, Raponi for the $1.00 stamp in New Zealand Post’s 2009 Matariki stamp issue.
This coin has been produced to the pinnacle of proof quality, with the heitiki image in brilliant colour.
Each limited edition silver proof heitiki coin is offered in a specially designed waka huia (treasure box). The waka huia for the silver proof coin is made from native New Zealand timber and is adorned with a unique Maori pattern.
