The 2010 Year of the Tiger stamp issue was the second in our 12-year Chinese lunar calendar stamp series.

The Chinese lunar calendar series is a popular collecting choice worldwide. The 2010 Year of the Tiger issue captured the energetic exuberance of New Zealand’s Chinese New Year festivities.

The Year of the Tiger began on 14 February 2010 and finished on the 2 February 2011. It’s a year that honours a symbol of courage – a fearless and fiery fighter that was revered by the ancient Chinese as warding off the three main disasters of a household: fire, thieves and ghosts.
