Known around the world for its breathtaking scenery, New Zealand is an always popular tourist destination.
Issue information
This stunning stamp issue showcased three of New Zealand’s most picturesque locations – Cape Reinga, Stewart Island and Lake Matheson. The stamps extended New Zealand Post’s existing Scenic Definitives range, and these three new denominations were created to accommodate the upcoming changes in postage rates.
The three gummed and two self-adhesive stamps were presented together on the first day cover, which featured Cape Reinga in all its glory. This was the perfect stamp collectable to celebrate New Zealand’s natural beauty.
The $1.40 Cape Reinga stamp and the $2.10 Stewart Island stamp were available in self-adhesive booklets of 10 and five respectively.
