This year the Chinese New Year will be celebrated on 16 February and will set the scene for the many other celebrations that are to follow. 2018 will be the year of the dog according to the traditional Chinese lunar calendar, New Zealand Post has created a special medallion to celebrate.

This limited edition, gold-plated medallion features the calligraphic character for ‘dog’ on one side, and an illustrated dog, such as that seen in colour on the $2.70 coin, on the other side.
