Design
Each coin in features a highly detailed three-dimensional colour-printed map of New Zealand’s two main islands. The koru designs surrounding the islands represent the currents of the ocean that obscures the majority of Te Riu-a-Māui/Zealandia - the New Zealand continent.
The two coins are housed in a wooden box with an inlay showing a 2019 bathymetric image of the continent.
