Design

With an elegant proof-like finish and exciting application of colour, this 5oz coin was designed by New Zealand artist Sacha Lees. Featuring a profile portrait of the Queen at its centre, silver ferns surround the monarch’s effigy over a royal blue background. Three manuka flowers sit underneath, symbolic of New Zealand’s connection to the Queen. Gold-coloured ribbons feature the text Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee, and with only 200 available this is an exceptional memento of the Queen of New Zealand. The obverse of the coin features Ian Rank-Broadly's portrait of the Queen.
