Single $7.60 Motukorea Browns Island gummed stamp.

Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s most intact volcano is the namesake of motukoreaite, a rare mineral discovered there in 1941 that has only been found in a handful of other locations. Only accessible by private boat, it’s one of around 50 volcanic cones scattered around the city.

The 2025 Scenic Definitives stamps showcase some of Aotearoa New Zealand’s extinct and dormant volcanoes. Click here to find out more about the stamp issue.
