The Christmas 1965 stamp issue depicted the Old Master painting - The Two Trinities by Murillo.
Issue information
The tender for printing from Harrison & Sons Ltd was accepted. The size of the stamps was left to the printers who were to develop a well balanced stamp in proportion to the original painting with the longest side not over 34mm. However, the printers felt that a slightly larger stamp (44mm x 29mm) would improve the subject and this was agreed to by the post office.
