Enid Hunter’s illustrated native New Zealand Butterfly designs, originally issued as stamps in 1970, are now available as individual greeting cards with matching enamel butterfly pins. Perfect to give as a simple wearable gift for family or friends.
Found during summer, this striking insect, which has the Māori name kahukura for its bright red colouring, is not often caught without a net as it is a powerful flyer. During the immature stages of its development the butterfly lives in the stinging nettle plant.
