It's becoming rare to receive mail that puts a smile on your face. It's usually bills or leaflets you find in your letter box.
Issue information
But isn't it special when you have received a personal message, sent through the mail, whether it's a card or even just a note? It means someone's really thinking of you and has taken the time to put pen to paper.
These stamps celebrated those special messages we receive through the mail and adds a special touch to them. Whatever the occasion, there was a Greetings stamp to match the message you were sending. There were 10 stamps in the issue - providing reminders of the many occasions and instances when we use mail to convey our feelings - from Birthdays to Get Well Soon greetings.
The stamps images were created from an artistic blend of photography, watercolours and hand written script making and were an attractive addition to any collection.
Greetings Presentation Pack
A presentation pack including writing paper and envelopes was also created, featuring artwork from the issue. The pack gave you the opportunity to send a message with everything matching - from the paper you wrote on, to the envelope, to the stamp.
Sheets of 20 Stamps
As part of this unique issue, sheets of 20 stamps for both the 40c and 90c denominations were created. All 5 stamps from each denomination appeared on each sheet, with special greetings tabs for you to write your own personalised message. It was a great way to add something special to your greetings.
Greetings First Day Cover
The Greetings first day cover incorporated the watercolour artwork from the 40c balloon stamp and featured all 10 stamps.
