  • The second collaboration between New Zealand Post and the Reserve Bank of New Zealand
  • Limited worldwide mintage of 2,000
  • Minted by British Royal Mint
  • Features the playful Hector’s Dolphin
  • The first of our New Zealand annual coin series.

Design

Available in this issue is this stunning silver proof coin featuring Auckland’s Sky Tower. Construction of the Sky Tower began in 1994 and was completed in 1997, requiring lasers and GPS satellite to guide the construction. The tower attracts over 1,000 visitors per day and has several floors and areas open to the public, including New Zealand’s only revolving restaurant. The tower also functions as a transmitter being Auckland’s main FM radio transmitter and hosting the largest FM combiner in the world.
