The Pacific ’97 exhibition took place in San Francisco from 29 May 1997 to 8 June 1997 and marked the 150th anniversary of the first US postage stamps.
New Zealand Post released two miniature sheets to commemorate the exhibition. The first featured three of the New Zealand Vineyards stamps with a special souvenir cover depicting San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge. The second miniature sheet was produced as a triangle and featured four of the triangular Centenary of Pigeon-gram stamps released on 7 May 1997.
