The Olympic Games have a special place in New Zealand’s history. They’ve also helped us feel connected, despite the physical distance that separates us from the rest of the world.
We’re a proud sporting nation so it’s no surprise that every four years New Zealanders really embrace the Olympic Games. This year the New Zealand Team is heading to Paris. They’re expecting a brilliant Games in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
The New Zealand Team is once again set to shine in sports from equestrian, to rowing, rugby sevens, swimming, canoe, sailing, athletics, cycling and more, while New Zealanders can check out the action in incredible new urban sports including skateboarding, sport climbing, breaking and 3x3 basketball.
It’s important to remember that the Olympic Games are about more than just sport. While in Paris the New Zealand Team will embrace and celebrate the Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect. There’s no other event in the world that brings together 206 nations like this.
The New Zealand Team is excited to add to its Olympic legacy in 2024.
