2002 was a glorious year for stamps in New Zealand. We celebrated winners, applauded creative talent and displayed nature’s awesome beauty.
We promoted the talent of tomorrow, honoured the spirit of the past and peeked at some delightfully ‘kiwi’ eccentricities. We took a new look at some perennial favourites. All of this was captured in The New Zealand Collection 2002 – a superbly presented album!
Introducing a Choice of Albums
New Zealand Post produced this annual stamp album for the first time in two formats. Firstly, we presented The New Zealand Collection 2002 complete with a mint set of 73 stamps issued between December 2001 and November 2002 and was securely contained in a protective slip case.
Alternatively, you could choose a collection that simple featured photographs of the stamps.
Whichever one you chose, you would have still enjoyed a philatelic feast – the stamps and their stories plus designer profiles and technical details, all complemented with stunning full-colour photographs and illustrations. Contributors included Richard Taylor and Tania Rodger, the creative talents behind the special effects in The Lord of the Rings, and popular New Zealand children’s writer Joy Cowley.
