Single $3.60 'Lake Manapouri' stamp

Known today as Lake Manapouri, the Fiordland lake was renowned amongst visitors as New Zealand’s most beautiful. It’s also our deepest, and its Māori name is Moturau. The lake scene captured in the postcard is relegated to history, since Lake Manapouri’s water levels were raised to create a hydro-electric dam in the 1960s.

This stamp issue celebrates the 125th anniversary of Aotearoa New Zealand’s first tourism department. Click here for more information.
