Taking place in the picturesque city of Wuxi, China 2011 - the 27th Asian International Stamp Exhibition brought collectors together from around the world.

Issue informationChina 2011 was the third FIAP international stamp exhibition to be held in China since the two successful exhibitions in 1996 and 2003. It took place from 11 to 15 November 2011 and aimed to promote the development of philately throughout Asia.

The exhibition was held under the patronage of the Federation of Inter-Asian Philately and with recognition from the Fédération Internationale de Philatélie. 31 countries and regions participated in what was one of the largest events on the 2011 philatelic calendar.

More than 250,000 international visitors were expected to visit the city of Wuxi to attend China 2011. Wuxi lies on the southern border of Jiangsu Province, about 128 kilometres northwest of Shanghai.

New Zealand Post issued an exhibition miniature sheet and exhibition souvenir cover to commemorate the event. The specially shaped miniature sheet incorporated three 2011 Round Kiwi stamps set alongside China’s national treasure – the giant panda. The exhibition souvenir cover beautifully depicted Wuxi’s Lake Taihu, which is China's third-largest body of fresh water.
