Red Admiral Butterfly 1c Stamp Art Print
This art print features a pictorial decimal stamp originally issued in 1970, designed by Enid Hunter, illustrating a native New Zealand butterfly species - the Red Admiral Butterfly.
Found during summer, this striking insect, which has the Māori name kahukura for its bright red colouring, is not often caught without a net as it is a powerful flyer. During the immature stages of its development the butterfly lives in the stinging nettle plant.
