This beautifully bound and presented album brings together the finest of the stamp issues from 1998.
From different skies to changing cities, The New Zealand Stamp Collection 1998 included a fascinating array of subjects. You visited Wellington’s newest landmark, got a taste of our vibrant performing arts, saw the work of a famous New Zealand artist, ventured into the watery worlds off our coasts, shared a new beginning with those who have travelled from around the world to get to New Zealand and a whole lot more.
You could see the quality from the moment you first picked up this album. The whole feel and look of the volume radiated the care that had been taken to produce a showcase work.
From the outside, the firm cover and permanent binding were the first hints that this was an album to keep and treasure.
Inside, the selected typefaces, the layout, text and accompanying graphics had been carefully designed to exhibit the stamps in all their glory, yet provide you with details you could return to and pore over, time and time again.
The use of acknowledged experts to provide an added dimension of knowledge and background was such a success that we had once again chosen to feature those with unsurpassed knowledge.
Featured writers for this edition included Bob Kerridge of the SPCA, Evening Post theatre critic Mark Amery, Simon McIntyre, Craig Thorburn of Kelly Tarlton’s Underwater World, historian Jock Phillips and David Green of the Department of Internal Affairs.
