In 2022 Aotearoa is reopening its borders and welcoming visitors back to our shores. After more than two years of border restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are once again inviting visitors to explore our home in the spirit of manaakitanga.
Issue information
As we do so, it’s important to remind our visitors and ourselves to travel with care and respect. New Zealand is precious, and everyone who lives and travels here has a responsibility to look after it.
Tiaki – Care for New Zealand was created through a collective desire to share a connection to the natural world, inspiring and helping visitors to travel safely and conscientiously. It is a message that has been brought to life by organisations throughout New Zealand’s tourism sector.
The Tiaki Promise is a challenge and commitment to care for New Zealand, for now and for future generations. By following the Tiaki Promise, you are making a commitment to New Zealand. To act as a guardian, protecting and preserving our home.
Nau mai, hoki mai. Welcome back.
