The China 2019 World Stamp Exhibition was held in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Issue information

The exhibition’s organisers intention was to provide the opportunity to support relationships and close co-operation amongst philatelists and stamp collectors throughout the world, as well as Chinese philatelic culture with opportunities for international creative activities.

The China 2019 World Stamp Exhibition was held at the Wuhan International Expo Center from June 11-17, 2019, where the total number of exhibits reached 3,500, and was anticipated to attract philatelists from more than 80 countries and regions.

New Zealand Post created a special miniature sheet and first day cover to commemorate this exhibition, featuring three stamps from the 2019 Native Alpine Flora issue.

Two dollars from each sheet went towards the Philatelic Trust.
